Question GIO 200cc stalls/cuts out

Hello every one!

Awesome AWESOME site!

I recently bought a GIO 200cc Quad. We havent had it out yet because it keeps stalling.

It will run/idlE for a while but then I shut her down it doesnt start again. I have played with the idle screw to try and set it but the result ends up the same.. itsstalls out. Any ideas what I can do to remedy this?

Default Gio quad stalling

I have the same problem with a new Gio mini 50 cc. I haven't figured it out yet, but I emailed Gio and they suggested it may be the carb. It is under warranty (parts only), but haven't got it to a mechanic yet to determine if that is the problem.

Also, I was reading the reviews of the Mikuni carb on the Gio website and many suggest this is a worthwhile upgrade. I'm probably going to get th new carb, but started to look at what it takes to replace this and it looks like a big job. Most of the job is disassembling the quad to get to the motor, but maybe I'm missing something???

try to play with the choke, try to find out if it's going lean or rich. if it's too rich, look at the float height and make sure the needle and seat are closing tight. also look at all the vent lines [ possibly just 1] look to see they are not blocked. if it's lean, you might have a vacum leak.

changing the carb shouldn't be to bad.... but imo, the carb itself really can't go bad, can it? there are several things that need to be right in order for it to for properly though.

Red face thanks for the help

Well. I'm an idiot **GULP**

It seems as thought the only problem was me. You see, I failed to realize that I needed to push the RED button with the arrow [ kill switch] back in after I had used the kill switch. Yikes!

All is swell now.

I am waiting for the Mikuni carb I ordered!

Thanks angain for the help.
