'92 Warrior ?'s
#1
Hey guys I've got a '92 warrior and have a few questions about it. I've had it for awhile but just started trying to fix it up. Bought it used about 6-7 years ago and haven't really done much with it. First of all the carb has been giving me trouble, at first It wouldn't run unless I had it on half choke so I pulled the carb and the accelerator pump was stuck and the low speed jet was clogged. So I cleaned it real well and now it will idle fine but gas is still running out the overflow. I checked the float when i cleaned the carb and it was fine so i don't know if the needle and seat is messed up or what but it seemed alright but who knows. Any Ideas?
I've also been reading that the stock front sprocket is a 13T mine has a 15T installed by the previous owners. It runs good, seems to have good power but man it will not get the front end off the ground hardly at all... not that i ride wheelies all day but its nice to be able to. I mainly ride trails so i was thinking of going back stock, would that give me a considerable difference in low end torque or should i just leave it alone?
Also the chain makes alot of noise, it only has about an inch of play in it when I'm on the four wheeler and 2 inches off (too much?)but it sure clanks. I'm not sure but above the chain, closer to the front sprocket there is a stud sticking out of the frame horizontally over the chain. I was almost wondering if that was some sort of chain guide that broke off at some point and time? it doesn't have anything on it but it has to have a purpose ha ha
sorry for all the questions but thanks in advance for the help

yea 15 is way to big, you need a good bit of mods to use a 15 well, even with my mods i have stock gear ratio, mine needs a 14 honestly but i ride in alot of tight trails so it works fine, you need to stick a 13 back on yours, seems like the float needle valve tip the rubber part might be dry rotted or something and not sealing...that or the float tab is off adjustment..also check to see if the float pin is holding the float on there good and its not rubbing against the inside of the bowl causing it to hang up.

Ok so I just got through pulling the carb off again and this time i did the old trick of turning the carb upside down and blowing through the fuel inlet to see if the needle and seat wasn't sealing properly, but it seals as far as I can tell. Could the float level be adjusted wrong to where its filling the bowl to fast?
The only other thing i can think of is that the accelerator pump has a black little boot on it, kind of like a seal i guess. It almost looks like a tiny cv joint boot like on a 4x4 (just as a reference) Mine is in two pieces is that normal or should it be all one piece?... but i don't see how this would affect anything.
I don't know what else could cause it to overflow. Any ideas?

Turn the carb upsidown and set the float at 1/2 " between gasket surface (no gasket) and bottom of float. If it runs out the overflow after that you need a needle and seat. Buy a carb kit off e-bay. Yamaha wants more for a needle and seat than a complete kit on e-bay. Also check the float and be sure there is no gas inside (leaking). Float can be purchased for dealer if needed. I just got done with mine and it runs great!
