Does anyone know why my sp700 efi might have an extremely low idle? I haven't changed anything, but it has started idling very low (700-800 rpms). Occasionally, it will cut off and need a little bit of throttle to stay running. I purchased it in late 2005 as a 2006 model.

check the play in the throttle cable might need adjustment should be about 1/8" no more....

 

Take the rubber boot off that goes to your throttle body and look into the TB...You might have a grime buildup in the TB...especially if you have been in dusty conditions.......Take some 3M throttle plate cleaner and clean the TB and butterfly.Let us know how you make out....

TB was very dirty... thanks for the advice! So... all that dirt concerns me about the engine.. maybe i'll switch back to a non- k&N... ?

 

Yeh, I think that would be a very good Idea, I would put a stock paper filter back on, or a Foam Uni
