Default Scrambler 500 won't idle after warmed up...

Hi all, been awhile since I've been on but I have a problem lately that I can't figure out. My 02 Scrambler 500 4x4 will not idle after its warmed up. I can start it with the choke fully pulled out and it'll idle fast and fine until it starts warming up to the point where it needs less and less choke. Once I push the choke all the way back in, it dies. This is consistent, and if I force it, say drive with the choke off and just keep it reved, it kinda farts the whole time. I did have the whole quad apart awhile ago to fix the trans case after the chain snapped and blew a hole in it. The only thing I can think of is there was a small diameter clear hose that went somewhere but i didn't know where so its just hanging down near the carb. And I don't think its ran right since its been put all back together, but again i'm not entirely sure. Also, it did sit for over a year until i finally got it fixed so i know the carb could be gummed up and i'm gonna look at that, but why would start fine and run until it warms up? Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any help. I really want to fix this because before this, the quad started, idled and ran perfect, always. Unlike my girl, er wifes trailboss....

Try cleaning carb jets first, small hose probably went to carb bowl at bottom (overflow) If its been seting a year, carb and fuel ought to be pretty rank!
