DS 650 Timing issues
#1
I have a 2000 ds 650 that hasnt been running. We rebuilt the carb and found a blown head gasket. It has spark and fuel to the carb and compression. thinking its timeing. Does anyone know the specs on timeing??? or have any ideas?
-Thanks.

Just a thought when you did the head gasket, did you lock the crank down? it will have spark when the flywheel assy is 180dg off, when the cams are in line and piston is at tdc the flywheel should have the bump at about 12: oclock in line with the crank sensor. pull side cover or the center plug and look in to see if the key way is at 12: or 6: oclock.

You have to make sure that when you line up the marks on the gears that the cam lobes are facing outboard/away from eachother. If they are pointing towards one another you are 180dg off.
