Default Pistons... Forged or Cast..thoughts?

Hey All,
I have an 2006 LYZ400 that is going to need a top end rebuild within the next week or so. And since I am at it, should i replace the stock piston with a Wiseco forged?

I don't race the quad, however I do like power (who doesn't).
Is there really a noticable power increase? More maintenance?
Should I go higher compression or stay stock?

Just wondering since I am going to have the work done anyways.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Since it's down I would put a forged piston in it. I would personally go with stock compression or get it to around 11:1.

forged has a better rigidity over a cast one. OEM pistons are cast and most have a reputation of not if there gonna break but WHEN they are going to break. just my .02 hope it makes you rich hasnt made me yet

there is a noticable increase of power if you increase the compression however if you go anything over 12. to 1 you will have to run race gas 12 to 1 compression you can get away with running 92 octane i run 100 octane in my 13.2 compression and think it is well worth the price but it may not be to others
