Transmission grinding

Default Transmission grinding

hi i recently purchased a 2006 sportsman 450 and everything worked fine untill a few rides after when everytime i went in reverse it would go a little bit it would make a loud grinding and clunking and now it doesnt even do anything in reverse. I dont know where to check the oil. and now its doing it a little bit in drive but barely anybody know whats wrong and if i should take the tranny out thanks

maybe a cv joint going bad?

Jack it up and turn the wheels in drive and see if the tires spin or youy feel it slipping

Sounds like the silent chain in tranny is bad, not too hard to fix, the hardest patr is getting the tranny out of the machine.
