i have a 1996 polaris 300 xplorer and i want to start mixing my gas and oil myself. not wanting to trust the injector anymore. does anyone no the best or oem mix. i also am having trouble with my shifter staying forward to keep the 4 wheel drive engauged, no problems in two wheel drive. any adjustments or should i replace the whole shifter thx

 

40 to 1 is a good mixture. is the linkage adjustable on the lever.

 

What stendori said. I run 40 to 1; (50 to 1 on cold days), on every two stroke I have ever ran. Never locked one up in my life. Even on engines like leaf blowers that are wide open for an hour at a time.
Never ran any special oil. Always bought what was cheapest and never had a problem. Still have a 50 year old chainsaw.

 

why get rid of the oil injection? never burned up polaris motor because of a failed oil pump if your worried about it because of age rebuild it ive owned 3 2 strokers Plus I hate premixing. make sure you block off the oil pump if you premix.

 

40 to 1 , like what stendori and Doctorturbo said, would be fine.
