Default How to fit larger tires on Sportsman XP?

Does anybody have a link or anything to the mod(s) required to make larger tires fit on the Sportsman XP? I don't want aftermarket wheels due to the added offset (and cost), but I'm ready to be rid of these POS Terrathons and put some 26" Bighorns on it.

I had read here about being able to bend the swaybar or something. Is that it, or is there more? I was thinking about maybe having a shop cut an inch (or two) out of the swaybar's middle and re-welding it, but I'll have to do some more measurements to be sure that'd work.

Thanks.

my brother in law just used a rachet srap and a jake to bend the sway bar. now it works just fine and from what i can tell hasnt moved or bent back at all. and there appears to be no ill effects from the bending of the bar. just becarefull to not bend it to much as you could weeken it.

How much clearance is needed when you bend it? I'm guessing what, maybe a half inch on each side?

There are a few posts about this....

One is only a few posts down from this one right now. It includes a link.

I did the sway bar mod a few hundred miles ago when I put the Bighorns on. Was definitely worth it, and I can still fit the machine down the trail and in my pickup box.

Perfect, thanks! Now I know how to do it, so I went ahead and ordered tires.
