2007 honda trx 400ex help

Default 2007 honda trx 400ex help

i'm new to doin mods to quads and i just bought a 2007 400 ex and i want to put a ti 4 pro circuit pipe. i'm i going to have to jet it too? or not.. i live on the coast of washington any help please

yes you will have to rejet. i am 565 feet above sea level, my 07 400ex has ehs airbox lid twin air filter hmf slippy and carb spacer. i have a 42 pilot jet, now i dont ever need to choke it when cold and 170 dyno jet main. depending which jets you use the number for the main will vary.

i only plan on just putting the pipe on so should i go 160, 155,or 152?

Skip buying the whole jet kits. The first thing to do is call the manufacturer and ask which jets to start off with for your setup. Most likely they will recommend some sort of intake work as well. Giving them (in this case Pro Circuit) your current mods, machine, and elevation they should be able to get you close on the jetting if not spot on. Many retailers can sell you the jets with your pipe purchase, but any dealership will carry jets for your quad. You won't even need to go to a Honda dealer. My personal preference is to stick with the carb manufacturers jets. Dynojet uses a different numbering system and are not as likely to be stocked by dealers. It might be harder to track down the proper size jet if you are ever in a pinch for some reason. Otherwise I don't really see a performance difference using them.

if you buy dyno jets when you do more mods you will have the jets you need plus they give you the fuel mixture tool, if you go to the dealer to get them when you do more mods guess what back to the dealer.yes dyno jets are more expensive but save you a lot of hassle.im happy with dyno jets.what is your altitude?you wont be in a pinch with dynojets because they give all the jets you will need.if you plan on doing more mods in the future get stage 1&2 if not get stage 1.jetting is not hard do a search on here about it.there is a 17mm bolt on bottom of carb the main jet is right there when you take it off,you can remove the jet without taking the carb off but its not fun.
