Hey guys i'm new here looked like a great forum! I have an 01 DS650 starts sometimes maybe runs for 1min to 10 min then acts like its starving for fuel then dies & won't start Even with gas or carb cleaner directly in carb while cranking, So this tells me its not a fuel problem & kinda seems electrical to me, it;s Got a new battery & yesterday I went out it started right up rode for about 10 min like it should then crapped out, now I started it it idled. barely reved then stalls, who know next time it could run fine again seems unpreditable....ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATE!

 

Remove the gas cap and see if the problem persist. If it goes away then check your overflow hose. Might be pinched as it is excessively long.
Check the filters on the petcock. Sounds like a fuel delivery issue.

 

As soon as it dies out, pull the plug wire off & stick another spark plug in it & check for spark. it will probably have spark. pull the fuel line off the carburetor & see if theres a full stream of gas coming from it. there probably will be. take the carburetor off & throw it away... problem fixed. :-)

 

Will try that tonit too, I just got thru tearing down & cleaning the carb, was some varnish & the pilot screw was All the way in tight, so I turned it out about 3/4 turn. Put it back on & it started right up reved nice run for about 1min then started trying to die give it throttle barely takes it, kept feathering the gas the died wouldn't start. Came back out 20 min later started right up but died again quickly!?????
