According to the Polaris Microfische a 96 Scrambler 400 2 stroke would use this spring, 7041132.

EPI shows the equivalence to spring 7041157, but not the 1132.

What is the spring rate of the 1132? I'd like to know what the baseline is before I start.

I am looking at doing some minor tweaking but more just replacing old tired springs in my quad. Mostly trail, all stock, nothing real hardcore. EPI is my prefered choice as I have best access to them.

Well, I searched 7041132, and guess what? Yep, found my info. I had previously just searched clutch and the amount of threads concealed the information.

According to info that I found the white spring is 35-140. EPI jumps to 75-140 after their 35-140 spring. Think this will be too big of a jump? They also show a 75-155.

I am going to have to do a little thinking/research on this.

 

Well, I keep answering my own questions!

My source doesn't list it, but I see that the EPI website has a dark green spring that is rated at 55-145.

Any of you used that spring on a 400 Scrambler?

your best source for info will be either member- FTWFLH, which has alot of knowledge on clutch springs, or a new member-epichad(i think)which i think works for EPI. they usually check in everyday and most likely can help ya out.

 

Need to know if your 400 is stock or is it piped and if so what pipe.
Stock I would recommend a Dalton blk/white close to a Polaris green.

EPI Red (PATV1) would be the closest to replace your stock one.

The Dark Green PATV11 55-145 rate spring will raise engagement a few hundred and 50-100 on top rpms compared to stock.

There are other options also, all depends on what you are looking for.
