Default Need help finding part number.

I found this on ebay and was hoping that someone would be able to help me find a part number for the speedometer that is on the trail boss 330 in this auction. I have talked to my local dealer with no luck so if I had the part number it would greatly help.

This is the link to the ebay auction.

2006 Polaris Trail Boss 330 Quad with Speedometer:eBay Motors (item 190346241312 end time Nov-04-09 16:07:46 PST)

Thanks

they don't list a speedo for that bike so can't find the number for you and it says a dealer installed the opition for it. you would have to have a speedo, speed sensor, and most likely a wire harness as well. just a guess though.

I found a speedo assembly that a guy bought for his 99 sportsman 500 that looks exactly like this one but he said that the sportsman has a 6 pulse system and the one he bought and can't use is for a 2 pulse system. So what is this 2 and 6 pulse stuff and what system does the trail boss have.

Here's the link for the speedo

Thanks

There are different pulse settings. If you dont get the right one to match you ignition it will not read correct. IT will normally show rpms, just not the right ones.

On Polaris snowmobiles it use to say on a sticker on the back of the tach. I've never looked at a atv one. I would look at companies that sell aftermarket tachs for atvs and check with them for any ideas. You can try your dealer but im guessing they wouldn't know because they are normally going to order the exact replacement part. It might note it on the wiring diagram in the service manual.

Thanks for the replies. So does the pulse control anything other than the tach if not i'm not real concerned about rpms but would like to know my speed. I called my local dealer today on the pulse of the trail boss and they are suppose to get back to me.

The pulse has more to do with the actual ignition (from what i know) and the tach is just an accessorie to read the engine rpms.

IMO running a different pulse tach wont change the ignition it will just not read correctly. Im not sure if that will make everything else work in the speedo or not.

Try another Polaris dealer they make an optional speedo kit for all their machines.
Other option is a TrailTech Vapor
