Newb- Honda TRX250 rear diff
#1
Hi, I'm new. I had been thinking of buying a 4 wheeler for a while- especially after riding a friends polaris 700. The cheapest ones I was finding for sale were around $2000 for an early 2000s 500cc 4x4 (all brands were bout same price)
Then I was given a wheeler for FREE
It's good enough for a starter, since I want a nicer pickup before shelling out a lot on an ATV.
It's a late 90s / early 00s honda recon TRX250 4x2.
The catch- the bearings went out in the differential and it is in pieces. The engine runs like a top
.
I found several bearing kits on ebay
HONDA 97-09 TRX250 Recon Rear Axle Bearing Kit TRX 250:eBay Motors (item 290358358382 end time Nov-09-09 08:39:59 PST)
I'm not sure if I have all the parts though. I found a diagram on the internet and printed it off. I'm confident I can put it together (have worked on cars / trucks / engines since I could hold a wrench, I am a senior in high school now)
It would be easier to put a different axle under it. Anybody have a trx250 for parts or know of somewhere I could get an axle? Or should I just spend $40 and throw this one back together and see how it works?

LOL, I had forgot about this forum, been busy.
Thanks for the toruqe spec diagram.
I'm hoping to bring it in the garage this week and yank the rear end, gather my parts and see what I need.
I have a few other projects that I need to get done before starting another.
