Default 2006 dvx 400, is this a worthy deal?

Hi!

I'm looking at a dvx400, PEP +2" A-arms, nerf bars, HMF pipe and few other bits for around $2k. Still on original tires that look good. Poor sod is getting married and soon-to-be wife set ultimatum as "her" or "bike". She won.

He's throwing in a full kit worth $1k.

Any issues I should know of before I lump cash at the Black Hole of Calcutta?

Here's a pic of the scoot & gear.

Cheers!

Benjamin

except for the plastic, it is basically an LTZ/KFX 400, same engine, drivetrain, etc. sounds like a good deal to me.

Good to hear!

Took it for a ride on Sat, runs well, just battles to locate neutral. Usual bugbear of worn clutch cage. Maybe something worse? Hope not.

On my way home from that ride, had another call for Predator Troy Lee, 2005. Good condition. Also $2k. Looks like I'll have two bikes by the end of the week!

I'll swing one and keep the other, make some cash to subsidise the other one. My mind tells me to keep the Arctic Cat, my heart the Predator. Will compare the two and decide from there.

Thanks for the input!

Sounds like a good deal, just check for the usual problems.

Hi!

Dodged a bullet with the Predator, motor was knocking and timing chain gone too. Ran well, but would have been short lived...

What should I be looking out for on the Cat? Chassis is mint, indicates low hours on quad. Motor sounds sweet. All it needs is a new ignition switch.

Ta!

By 06 they had pretty much worked out the kinks on the ltz. Wish I'd have found a friend selling one at that price instead of buying mine new. Heckuva deal.
