hi my first post and i need some help please 96 xpress 400 4x4

Default hi my first post and i need some help please 96 xpress 400 4x4

hi my name is brandon, this is my first post.
i have a 96 polaris xpress 400
i just bought it the other day not running.
i got it to run for 5 seconds, pulled the plug and checked for fire, it fires like 1 time out of 30 or so cranks, the wires have been cut up some, ill post pics tom or the next day
im gonna get it back to good shape, and i m prolly gonna need some help

first thing is try a new plug then check back

new plug does the same thing
it has some rigged wiring,
probably about 2 sparks every 20 revelutions

This is a shot in the dark but unplug the black wire from the reverse limiter.This thing can cause all sorts of problems.I am shooting for the easy cheap fixes first.So what does the rigged wiring look like?Also yur stator or CDI can cause this too.

i unplugger the black wire from the limiter it made no diffrence

ill try to snap some shots of the wiring tom if its not pouring rain, would a 96 explorer or scrambler wiring harness work?

come the weekend I will see what parts of wiring I can find off of the 97 Xpress I been parting out.
