Leaking gas out of carb when not in use
#1
My Polaris 2004-500 H.O. leaks gas out of carb. like you are pressing the gas constatly even when not using and just sitting there. Also at the very bottom of carb. there is a spout extending down that looks like it is missing a hose. Is this a breather hose or what. Leaks gas out of this spout to. What do you thing my proeblem is

Not familiar with the petcock settings on that model. Don't think there is a P (primer) but if so, that could be your problem. Seems like mine just had on and off. May also want to check the float and make sure it's set properly.
Hopefully you'll get a response from someone who may have had, and solved this problem on theirs.

Oh yeah, bottom hose you're missing is the drain tube if it's like mine. Should be a screw by that, check and make sure it's tight.

Common problem with carbed Polaris machines. The needle and seat wears on them, replace the needle and seat, adjust the float, and issue resolved. Also will make it easier to start when cold, because the motor wont be flooded
