Default Batteries?

Ok i have a battery that has two cells that are just about dry last season it was the same thing it shows no cracks the caps were tight. So I'll put more distilled water in it and trickle charge it. Now last year it showed on the charger that it was dead. So i checked the charger on a good battery it was working. Now the charge has a (salfater (sp)if I put the thing on my old charger it takes a charge but it does not shut off i have to keep an eye on it the analog gauge never changes so how long should I put it on for and is once a month ok I put the battery in my basement. what dose a salfter do?

Most likely the battery is bad. If the amp meter on the gauge does not go down I would assume it wont take a charge. You could bring it into town and have a place load test it to make sure.

dont know if it will help your battery but ... i have a Vector charger that has a reconditioning mode on it. it takes 24/48 hours to recondition a battery but it helps mine out when they don't seem to hold a charge any longer. goodluck PB500
