Default Scrambler 400 4x4 oil mix

What should the oil/fuel mix be. Is it 40:1 or 50:1. The oil pump is disconnected. I have seen people say both. Any help would be nice. Thanks

The original pump is metered at 50-1 ratio,BUT if I would be premixing I would use 40-1 DEPENDING on oil type. I know some claim up to 100-1 ratio, but longevity is what I would go after, not just performance. Down here in Texas Motorex,Spectro,Maxima, some use Amsoil are the preferred. Even Wally World TCW3 at 40-1 is adequate as well as Polaris brand.. BUT you are starting an oil question and like politics and religion, expect MORE opinions OPT

I work at a boat shop and use mercury synthetic blend. 50:1 is what an outboard is and think with this good oil, 50:1 should be adequate. Right?

Should be ok If your are talking about Quicksilver, its good oil. And all good oil is TCW3 rated anyway. OPT

I would mix 40:1 to be safe

I have used either 40 or 50 to 1 in every two stroke I have ever owned. And I have owned and still own 8 of them. I have never stuck a piston at these mixes and I don't get crazy on the oil type. Any two stroke oil I can find on sale I will use.

I use 40 to 1 in real hot weather and 50 to 1 any other time. One of my chain saws is almost 50 years old and still runs great.
