Default 2004 sportsman 600 starter drive

I need to change the starter drive on my bike and am wondering if I should go polaris or is there a aftermarket drive available? Which is better?

Aftermarket ones are available through Parts Unlimited,Tucker Rocky and others. Usually made in Brazil. We've sold a few,no reports on durability though compared to OEM.

Make sure the battery is good, my 700 started acting like the bendix was going, would spin but not engage the starter, load tested battery and it was weak, replaced with a good gel filled, has not missed a beat since, stars every time you turn the key.
