My son has a Typhoon 110 a 3 spd semi auto w/reverse quad. When you are at a dead stop and try to take off it goes no where.Does it as well when trying to go up anything with a slight grade to it.My son spends more time off the quad pushing it than riding it when we go out riding.When he puts it in reverse it will bury the back tires, there is plenty of torque and power when in reverse but nothing trying to take off.It only clicks down one notch when puting it in gear and the shifter display only reads L, 0, and R.If anybody has any ideas on what to start looking into or replaceing please let me know.THANKS

 

try adjusting ur clutch. i think its on the right side right beside where ur sons foot goes

 

If adjusting it doesnt work perhaps the clutch is worn out, how old is the machine?

 

Just so you know, that is a knockoff Typhoon, its not a Xtreme Typhoon... They only come in 70cc, 90cc & 125cc none of which have reverse... just for if you need parts you know this.

 

thanks for the info.I think I already checked that is it a nut with a bolt in the center with a flat head screw driver notch in it.I tried to adjust that already and it doesnt adjust.It feels like that it came undone from whatever it is attatched to.Im thinking about getting him an entire motor and trans that has true gearing instad of the crap auto thats in there now.

 

Hate to see you replace the whole power plant, but I've seen brand-new ones for under $200 on eBay.

Why dont you take the side cover off and see whats gone wrong.....cant hurt it.

Common on road bikes for the nut that adjusts the clutch pawl to come off....same thing happens. I damn sure dont replace the motor on my bikes cause a nut backed off.......
