Default Sheered off front spocket Help

OK here is the deal I was out riding hard the other day chain fell off after it had been tightened 2 trips ago with correct slack. Put chain back on 50 yards later I sheered off the shaft that holds on front sprocket. My question is why would this happen?? Is this a hard fix and does anyone have and Idea of cost to get this fixed?? Thanks in advance~ Jason

What machine are we talking about? Is this the splined shaft that comes out of the transmission? I think e-bay would be the best bet for parts.

what machine?

are you talking about the 4x4 chain that comes off the tranny and then transfers power to the front wheels? You broke the shaft that comes out of the front eccentric, before the front diff?

shouldnt be too bad if thats the case. if you broke the tranny shaft then it wont be fun

Even a broken tranny out put shaft isnt that bad to fix.
You must check the chain before every ride.A worn chain loosens up quickly. Also check the rear axle bearings if bad they can make the chain loose at a certain point and snap the shaft.
