Default 95 425 magnum runs bad high rpm

I have a problem that seems to be pretty common from reading other threads, just have'nt really seen the fix yet other than exhaust camshaft.
My 425 starts great idiles good but acts like a rev limiter at higher rpm.
I have checked camshafts, valve lash, removed and cleaned carb, bypassed rev limiter, changed plug, filter, and gas, unhooked muffler. It dont seem to be any better with anything i've done. Has anyone else fixed thiers yet? Thank you for reading and any suggestions!!

Check the air boot to be sure the spring that holds it open is still there. You can also take the boot off and see how it acts.It is the horn looking thing on the airbox

I have been having a similar problem, my 96 425 magnum is flooding itself, the fuel pump and lines are good. At idle it will run very, very rich and quit. I have replaced the needle and seat and that did nothing.

It does not have the original carb that might be the problem right there. Its been to a local repair place and they didnt know whats up, they even overtightened the screws that held the float bowl on so i basicly need a new carb (not goin back there if you know what i mean)

Thanks

If the spring was gone wouldnt that make it run rich from closing the air off to the carb, this thing is lean. But i will try it with the horn of the box almost tried everything else. thanks for thought
