Thumbs up Waters in the Money at WORCS Round 1

Waters Starts the Season with Best Pro Finish; Announces new Sponsors

HotSeat/Yamaha rider Justin Waters started his second full Pro year in the WORCS ATV Nationals right where he left off last season – marching up the leader board. For Round One at Speedworld in Phoenix AZ last weekend, he posted a 6th place finish, his best so far.

“I had great battles nearly the whole way through - with Tim Shelman the first half of the race, fighting for seventh or eighth. I got around him when he pitted, then he passed me and I had to pass him back. Then it took me a couple laps and I caught up with Dillon [Zimmerman] and I chased him hard the last part of the race.”

“Sometimes it can hurt you if the person you are close to is slow because it can make you slow your pace without even realizing it. But this time I know it made me push harder the whole way because these are obviously some of the top riders. Most of the time I could see the rider in front of me at least several times each lap, so I knew if I was catching up or losing time on him.”

The strategy worked well and Justin kept his pace strong the entire two hours, starting 8th in the field and finishing a strong 6th place on his YFZ450R, his highest finish in WORCS since his Pro debut last season.

Waters was also excited to debut several new sponsors for this season:

MotoActiv will be providing aluminum hard parts for the team, including nerfs and front bumpers.

“I’m glad to be working with MotoActiv on their new ATV products – they are using machining that no one else is right now, to get precise fit and alignment. With parts that take as much abuse as bumpers and nerfs, it’s important to be able to change them out quickly if necessary and not worry about fit.”

Forma Boots aren’t new to the industry, but they are new to the US.

“These boots have the top-of-the-line features that racers demand, but they are more comfortable than any other boot I’ve worn – at half the price. I was hesitant to try a brand I hadn’t heard of because it’s so essential to have the right ones, to be able to really move in your boots. But even just putting them on the first time and walking around they felt different. And aggressive riding will really sell you on them.”
