Default No AWD - Bad Speedometer

Speedometer does not work and neither does the AWD. Scanned this site for alternatives and tried them (I grounded the brown / white wire and then I tried splicing the brown and brown/white wire) and still no AWD. THis worked for alot of folks with 200 Sportsmans but no mine?

Only other thing I can think of is ...will an extreemly week battery keep the front wheels from engaging?

Please help

Weak battery will do a lot more than that, but yes that and the speedo and reverse override. Check your battery voltage, maybe switch the battery from the other 500.

agreed check to see if your batery is getting any charge from the bike. it needs a good 12 volt charge to keep things working.

Battery will be replaced and I will try bypassing the speedometer again.

Is grounding the brown and white wire the best method?

OR

Is splicing the brown and white wire with the brown wire the best method?

i think i have read gronding the wire is the best way but can't be 100% sure. you still should be able to test your charging system to make sure it is putting out voltage w/out buying a new battery by using a tester while it's running. imo
