Default fsn 110cc starting problem

My daughter has a fsn 110cc quad. It has a remote start and kill switch. It will start and shut off with the remote. It won't start with the button on the handle bars. You don't have to have the key switch on to use the remote. I have tested the key switch and the starter button with a meter they both work. Any ideas why it won't start?

Thanks in advance

For manual starting (with the start button) you have to have the brake on. Turn on the ignition, step on the brake, and look at the brake light. Is it on? If not, that's where to concentrate. The typical start circutry wiring path from the battery:

1) Battery (+) terminal
2) Main Fuse
3) Ignition switch
4) Brake switch
5) Start switch
6) Starter solenoid actuating coil

The other side of the starter solenoid coil is grounded which completes the circuit back to the battery (-) terminal.

I'd just like to say thanks to LynnEdwards! My son has been starting his Quad for the last few weeks with the remote because the button on the handle bar wouldn't work. Presto, step on the brake and now it works!
