Default Spindle Help 02 magnun 325 4*4

Hi,

First time poster. I am thinking of buying the above used machine but the seller claims it needs a new spindle on the front. Anyone know how hard it is to change and how much the part is? I can't seem to locate it online. I have not seen the machine yet. I am fairly good at this stuff but have never changed a spindle or even know exactly what it looks like on this model.

Help advice is appreciated

That is part of the CV axle on a 4x4.

Any idea how much it would be to buy a new one? I don't mind spending a little but if it is a $300 piece I might pass.

It ready depends on what is wrong with it. There is no 'spindle' on these. You can look up parts but not sure what is wrong with it. These are 'wet' hubs. I would ask more questions on what is wrong with it and why he is saying it needs a new spindle.

There are several parts the make up the front 'hub' that could be bad. Yes some parts are expensive but some are not. They are not hard to work on. Yes you could spend more then $300 if you have to replace the CV/driveshaft with other parts. But it could be a lot less.

I agree with Scott, Sounds like the guy may be guessing what the problem may be. I would try looking up all the parts you may need on ebay and new. Use that to make a decision. You will not know what the problem is until you get into it. Use your research as a tool to lower his price, if you want this bike.
