I bought a 1998 polaris xplorer 300 4x4, to use around the property to pull a mower and plow the drives and other odd jobs.

The pull start works fine. and the lights power up when you rev it. i bought a new battery which makes the lights work, but when i hit the starter button nothing, no click no nothing.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram? i figure ill start by checking out the selenoid. but i see they have the wiring spread out all over this thing. id rather not just start throwing parts at it if there is any tests i should be doing to help eliminate and start narrowing down the problem.

Seems that it is either a relay or wiring related. also the battery is not getting charged back up from it running either.

 

THe starter solenoid is by the battery.Jump thet posts and if it starts there is your problem.If nothing replace the starter

 

make the key is in the on position when you jump the 2 big cables on the solenoid like he mentioned.
