I AM GOING TO GET A TRAIL BLAZER SOON AND WAS
WANTING TO NOW A FEW THINGS FROM SOME OWNERS OF
THEM HOW GOOD DOES IT CLIMB HILLS WITHOUT A LOW GEAR AND HOW LONG DO THE BREAKS LAST ALSO HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED TO ADJUST THE CHAIN WITH THE
CHAIN SYSTEM POLARIS USES AND DOES IT START EASY IN COLD WEATHER I WILL GET FRONT AND BACK RACKS
FOR IT SO I CAN GET MY DEER OUT OF THE WOODS.I WILL MOSTLY USE IT HUNTING I LIKE THE SPORTNESS
OF IT AND THE FACT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE GEARS
AND YOU CAN ALSO PUT RACKS ON IT AND THE 2 STROKE
IS A MUST HAVE. AND I REALLY DON'T NEED A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE OR I WOULD GET A EXPLORER 250.

THANKS KEVIN

I own a Trail Boss 250 which is VERY similar except mine has a front rack. My machine has been bullet proof. I put my first piston(WEISCO - $100) and brakes this fall. I am going to have to rebuild my starter soon (I ride in deep water often). Grease the machine, run Polaris oil and keep the air filter clean and they go and go and go. Very little problems since 1993. I ride my machine hard but maintain it well.

Chaparrral Racing is a good place for tires and replacement parts.

You will love the Trail Balzer. There are loads of performance mods available from Ritter cycle.

Chain - original and no problems
Cold weather starting - no problem

My advice, spend the extra $$$$$ and get the Xplorer or Xplorer 400 (better resale). My next quad will be the Xploer 400. There is one in our riding group and it is INCREDIBLE. The two stroke is great for performance!

I own 5 4 wheelers and 3 of them are polaris's I have a 2001 trailblazer and 2001 explore 250 4x4 both are same engine and I would not trade them for anything. They ride great and I have had no trouble with them at all. The trail blazer is plenty fast and climbs hills very well. And when I get so I need more speed for about $320 I can up the horse power 10 horse more with an hpd pipe.
You have lots of power and Its great to always be in the right gear when you are climbing a hill. The stock breaks may be a little soft but a good set is only about $20 so its know big deal. For the money go trailblazer you will not be sorry.

If you are going hunting look at the explore 4x4 250 .... It is a great machine for hunting and trail riding. My trail blazer is a little faster but the explore rides better and the seat is far more plush. The main thing though is you get real muddy on the blazer but on the explore you stay semi clean ... the fenders are far more protective. Also comming out of a reveen or from a valley the 4x4 is great ... I bear hunt in canada 2x a year and I have brought out 400lb. bear and larger on the 4x4 and it is a lot easyer than on a total sport machine. I have the rear rack on the blazer and It sits pretty far back over the rear tires and it makes the front to light. So if its pretty steep it will be a problem. The explore racks are set up to carry a pretty large load. far more than the blazer. If you have not bought it yet email me because I have both machines and they are both great but for hunting and trail riding go with the explore it is worth the exra money ... look at it this way a front rack and rear rack are about $200 so that makes the explore that much less.

My brother (Realoldguy) has the Blazer and the 250 Explorer. Both are good machines for hillclimbing and trail riding. I don't know that the Blazer would be very good for hauling out your kill though. The rack that they have isn't big and sits way back, not good for hauling much. The low range on the Explorer is nice for that though. You also might consider the 325 Trail Boss. It has more lowend power than the Blazer and comes with a good strong back rack. I have a friend who is about 350 pounds and he has no problem climbing with his. It is as sporty as the Blazer, rides better than either machine as well. I love mine. It is about halfway in between the others in price and performance. We dragged them last night and there was only one atv length between them, with the Boss jumping out in front first and the Blazer slowly catching up.
