Default 06 grizz 660 wont shift

I just got a great deal on a grizz it had a broken axle so i wasent able to get a good test drive in so while I wait on the new axle I went threw the atv and changed every fluid ,drained and cleaned the gas tank, and all looks well. So while still on jakes I started it and tried to see if I could get it to shift and it would not shift up to second. Ive never had an automatic not sure what might be the deal.what can I check or should I just wait until the axle comes and try it on the road. This atv is a 2006 grizzly 660

No it will be 1 long continuos gear. Low gear will be the same but geared differently, so it will have less top speed.

The clutch housing on the right hand side has your clutch sheaves. These will control the "gearing" as you increase/decrease throttle.
