I finally remembered to talk to my brother about where Honda Valley is.
From Loma Linda, take I-15 north, exit 133 towards Silverwood Lake. It's right in that area.
He doesn't recommend you stay overnight there. I didn't press him for why not.

Thanks! I've ridden that area some, and haven't found anything special. Mostly it's Forest Service roads which are pretty restricted. There is a lot of development too, so maby some access has gotten closed off. Guess I'll just have to explore more and see what I can find!

Have you ridden Hungry Valley (Gorman) or Johnson Valley?
I haven't been to HV in about 4 years but I'm going to start going again. Haven't been to Johnson Valley in about 8 years.

It's interesting that just yesterday we were talking about Hungry Valley. No, I havn't been there. Haven't been to Johnson in a long time either. Have you tried Rasor? It's a couple of exits this side of Baker on the I-15. It has a lot of variety: some dunes, trails in the hills, sandy flats down in the valleys, a little bit of everything-not crowded at all. You can camp there, and take a day trip to Dumont. This weekend we are going to ride Afton Canyon, which is just to the West. The Mojave River comes to the surfact here, and I hope the water isn't to high from all the rains!!

Nope, I've haven't been to Rasor or Afton. They're both a little far for a day-trip. Maybe this summer after sand-season is over I'll try to get my little group to take a ride.
My next trip is scheduled for the weekend of 3-31 to 4-1 to Glamis.
Since I got the new (to me) motorhome, it's much easier for me to load up and hit the road, it's just that my wife can't get too much time off work for awhile. ..oh well.. . but I'm still going to start taking more frequent "short" trips to places like Hungry Valley, etc.
