just one word "nice"
I was at the dunes sunday an a buddy of mine with his 440 with a t-4 on it was there he let me ride it an I have to say this thing rocked ...I couldn't belive how much differant from my 400ex. Trottle responce was right now, power was strong an torque was unreal.I have mine running good for a mostly stock wheeler been rejetted /modified the pipe /k&n,but the 440 kit is some thing to think about

Yeah when I first got my 400ex I was very pleased with it, but after adding the 440 kit I was blown away. As you said the throttle response was the biggest change, coming hard out of corners now is a blast.

No I wouldn't say the t-4 is a loud pipe bit it it louder then stock, sounds more like a throaty rumble. The things I have done to my stock pipe is removed the core but left the screen/opening it up from 3/4 in to 1 3/4 in,I left the screen in a peace of mine.
not sure about kit/it was the 440 kit an I think he put it in with a la. sleave/$285.00 I think he said not counting the t-4 an wb rev box

Hey BigBlaster,

Powroll did my work for me the kit cost $465.00, it is the 440 stroker kit now that doesn't include the gaskets which cost over $100.00 total.
I have the WB E-series Pro meg exhaust system on and that cost $450.00 for the headers and pipe. It's a 4mm longer stroke which is what makes the big difference in bottom end on mine, that's what I wanted because around here low end gets a heck of alot more use than top end. The bore is 89mm and the compression is 10.5:1, I went with that so I wouldn't have to run race fuel and it would be a little more reliable. They hard faced the rockers for me and dropped in a high rev cam which the cam cost $162.95 I can't seem to find the price for the rockers. I also had a new rev box put in for a little over $100.00 and the port and polish is soon to follow, as soon as I can talk the wife into it. I know going with the high rev cam and the stroker kind of offset each other but the overall difference in low end is still amazing and I gained in top end also. As I said before I am extremely happy with the work Powroll has done and I have not had a single problem with the quad since having this work done a year ago (none before either).

I agree. I think the 440 is the way to go. I put a 440 on my '99 last fall, and honestly, It runs more the way I had expected it to when I bought it. When they first came out in '99, the magazines were describing them the way it feels now. As far as durability, Havent had any problems, I ride mostly trails, and highly advise it.
