Default 250 trail boss more power?

I have a 90 trail boss 250 4x4. I know its not a 650 and not looking to make it one. I read it has 22HP and I`m finding that under load it lacks the HP needed to keep me going. What can I do to make my quad have alittle more growl than grown is there anything easy to do to make it have something like 30hp. I`m not into racing and think its fast enough for me. I just dont like riding it across a frozen lake with a foot of snow full throttle and doing 20mph I`m running stock sized mud-lites for tires. Thanks in advance.

anything done to it? I'd try a full exhaust, k&n filter, clutch kit and re-jet it. if that doesn't do it for ya, you can always get it bored out and put in a higher compression piston

Get a Polaris white primary spring and see what that does. You could get a complete clutch kit too but try the spring first.

I did put a $500 comet clutch in it and didnt like the hard shift so i put the stock spring into the new clutch maybe I`ll put the new spring back into it (come to think of it im sure it was white). Other than that its bone stock. I had another trail boss, i redone the motor and went a 50tho over bore with a wisco piston and didnt feel any gains.
I`m leaning towards the exhaust and carb work. I`m sure the carb has stock jets not sure of the #`s if i re-jet how many sizes bigger should i go??? and is the re-jet an oem part can i order it from polaris? I know a fair bit about the mikuni round slides (book smart) actually understanding them seems a bit french but im sure i could figure it out.As for the exhaust will i gain anything opening it up from after the Headpipe back? thanks for the help.
