Default bearclaw vs swamplite vs mudlite for the scrambler

It's time for new tire for the scrambler. there is quite a few scrambler rider here so i'd like to have your tire selection.

I've listed everything available in the oem size. Today I went to 4 local dealers to get pricing. Since they have pretty much all the same distributors, the price are almost similar everywhere. many brands aren't distributed widely here.

So far, I know I can get kenda bearclaw and ITP mudlite for the same price. I'm leaning toward the ITP since it's lighter. The swamplite is also very interesting, but I'd need to order them since they aren't available locally

Can't speak about the Mudlites or the Swamp lites, but I can speak about the Bearclaws... great little tire. Tough, light, long wearing, and great traction. If they made them in a radial, I would have a set. Probably not as good a "mud tire" as the others though.

hey, Flatster, you might not want a shorter tire, cause on my scrambler the shrimplites,(i mean Swamplites) are a couple inches shorter,no lie. maybe the 25" 26's ones won't be, but the 22's and 23's are............pictures in a few day's!!.........

I`d stay away from the mudlite. I bought a set (4)run them for like 3hours total (deer hunting) on well trimmed trails and the side wall has about a 2inch gash. The side walls on these tires are way to weak i wonder whats going to happen when im wheelin it on the rocks and in the bush. I wish I spent the $$$ and got a better set.

A riding buddy has mudlites and loves the traction but like randyneff6971 says, weak sidewalls. He has already replaced both front tires due to sidewall damage.
