Default 2004 650 Arctic Cat Mudlight tires questions

Plan to put new Mudlight XL tires on my ATV. Came with 26X11R12 and 26X8R12.
Think I will put 26X12-12 on rear. Should I put 26X9-12 or 26X10-12 on front?
Also, any recommended places to buy them from in eastern Ontario (Canada)?
Thanks

for ease of steering, I would go with the 26x9 for the front. I ran 26 x 9 and 26 x 12 Mudlights on my Vinson and loved the way it rode....just hated all the sidewall punctures I got, so I went with 589s on my AC 650 TRV

I previously had a set of mud lites that you are looking at. They worked well for me and I had 9's on the front 12's on rear. I currently run 25inch mud lite XL in 8 and 10 inch widths. Funny thing is my ATV with the 26inch tires only had 1/2 inch more ground clearance than the 25 inch tires with the same psi (5psi) in the tires.

I have a friend who has 26 x11x12 all the way around and it is a real pig to steer. He constantly complains about his arms being tired on long rides. On short rides he can certainly go float through some gunk though!

Check out the prices on a web site called Motosport.com They have free shipping on some orders but I do not know if it applies to Canada.

Hey swampy......26" diameter tires are 1" more than 25". 1/2" larger in radius all the way around. Hence only 1/2 more ground clearance.

Yeah, my fingers got a head of my brain. I swear that is the first mistake I have made since my last one. I also meant to add that if I increased both the 26 and the 25inch tires to 6psi they was about 1/8 inch difference in ground clearance? (strange)

I believe this was from the 26in tire ballooning out around the rim width wise while the 25in tire crowned in the center of the tire. I also had an issue with the 26inch tire getting sidewall punctures but I have not had the same issue with the 25inch tires.

Ya Ive had those moments too. They seem to increase in frequency the older I get. I wouldnt put too much faith in the tire measurements being gospel. More of a guideline really.

Yup...Sometimer disease...Some times I rememebr and some times I don't!

On a side note my wife just picked up another set of 25inch mud lite XL's for $130 for a set of 4 tires! They were taken off another machine that wanted larger tires and had been used 3 months! The darn things look new!

My wife tried to pass this off as my birthday present! (which is not for another month!)

Thanks all for the info. Put 26x12x12 on rear and 26x10x12 on front.
Noticed my bike shakes quite a bit from 3-10 kph now,forward/reverse.
Is this normal?

They usually do not balance ATV tires but I have heard of some tires having some irregular thicknesses and causing something like that but they were used for racing.

I am wondering if it is due to the lugs on the tires? So what kind of surface are you riding on?
