Default Most expensive replacement parts?

All,

I was wondering what would be the most expensive individual items to have
replace and the amount on our Sportsmans?

Stator?

Enigine?

Thanks,

R'

I think someone posted in a thread a while back that a new 800 engine from popo runs over $5K. That's well over half the cost of the wheeler!

Well, on this Sportsman, I'd have to say: brain, head, torso, legs, and arms. Probably in that order. On a Polaris Sportsman: engine, frame, transmission, gear boxes, etc.

Had the wife on the back of one many years ago. Went up a hill and she slid off.

Still paying for that one.

Seriously though, sometimes it's not the part that is expensive, it's getting to that part and putting it in. Simple crank bearing isn't that much, but...

Just curious mainly especially IF or when I need to replace a certain part. I am sure for the more $$$ expensive items like the engine I would imagine its a required stroll down used salvage parts and more probably come to buy another used one?

Also a little math in the insurance department as these things get older. Seems to make sense to keep insurance on it while newer and maybe when its value is greatly diminshed then either lower the coverage or drop it. For about $350yr. still better off keeping my plan at the moment for theft/loss/accident and bodily injury etc. -- IMO
