outlaw 525 overheat
#1
Hi, yesterday I went for a ride on my outlaw 525. Very slushy and wet snow conditions. After breaking trail for a while I noticed my temp light came on. When I checked the level in the rad it was down about one inch. I topped it off but the light never went away. The engine and the lines never felt hot, in fact the engine was packed with snow. It didn't lose power or sputter. On further checking we found that the bypass line from the bottom of the engine had been capped off with a bolt and the thermostat removed and a direct conection to the hose on the head was installed. Wondering why someone would do this and is it bad? I have ridden this quad since last October and this is the first time the light came on. The fan still comes on periodically. I recently had a recluse clutch put in and as far as I can tell they wouldn't go anywhere near the cooling system. If you have any idea what could be going on and why someone would get rid of the thermostat please post. Thankyou, Lee
