Smile Trans Overhaul 08 800

Well went out for a ride and the tranny started acting up. Put it L H or R and the bike would not move until you gave it some gas. It would make a loud clunk and then catch. Took it into the Dealer and just found out the chain and gears need replaced ( Dealer says they are starting to see this alot). Going to Hatfield & McCoy for two weeks of riding in ten days , they say it will be done in time. 08 with 350 miles on it, Wife has an 06 800 and going strong. Anyone riding down at Hatfield stop by and have a cold Beer.

NO but he did give a fare price to fix it. I don't ride that hard and I keep all the fluids changed, just glad it started acting up before vacation. First time to Dealer I try to do most stuff myself, But this is first major issue.

ya that does suck. i've had an 06' and an 08' that i've played hard w/ and no issues except the tranny chain rubbing on the drain plug which might be the issue. haven't heard anyone complaining of tranny issues on here as of yet but good info to pass on thanks and good luck.

i'm guessing that it would be part of whats wrong for sure. if you look at a parts break down you'll see the chain we refering too.

Is it the shaft, chain and sprocket in the transmission, or was it the chain and 2 shafts for the output shaft?
