sportsman tips or tricks?

Default sportsman tips or tricks?

my dad just bought an '06 sportsman 500 EFI, and i bought his '04 400. does anyone know any tips or tricks for either one? just curious if there is any simple things to know about them.

change the hub/ diff fluid consistantly

do service and keep it maintained and they should do fine.

No hub fluid on a 06. The best thing is silicon your pull rope handle down. I can guarantee you water and mud will work its way down at some point and cause havoc on your $300 stator,Bendix drive,pulse coil.

ONLY USE 0W-40 oil also.

They're heavy machines. Don't get lazy in the corners or going up and down hills. If you don't use body English they can jump up and bite you.

I'm gonna silicon my pull rope, thanks for the tip on that.

Hey I've got a tip for you. You know that pesky reverse override/4wd bypass button?
Get a couple of zip ties and fit it losely around it. The buttons tension helps keep it in place, but you can slip it up to toggle your functions if needed.
It's the best mod on my bike, cost 15 cents.

Use 0W40 or Polaris PS4 plus which is 2w50 myself I use Amsoil 0W40 with Amsoil filters .
