Default lt80 clutch questions

Bought an 88 lt80 that needed some clutch work. After getting into it found out that the outer sheeve or the movable driven face was broken. the spring and the movable seat had broken through the the sheeve and were next to the inner sheeve. The belt had been riding on the spring which was bound up into a small ball. After getting it apart and looking at the parts diagram its obvious on some parts i need but i dont know on some others.
First part i dont know on is;
The fixed face diven sheeve. the outer edge appears to have a very small wobble. Is this a big deal? i only ask because generally wobble is bad. Also on this part the shaft section is a little scuffed from whatever happened with the spring. Is this scuffing or marring going to affect the oil seals? On that note, is this supposd to be filled with oil?
Also, on this part the outer bearing is rough turning. to take this bearing out do i have to take out the other bearing also? If so, will this damage this bearing so i need to get both of them?

The next part is the clutch itself. My initial thought is, given what had happened to go ahead and get a new one. But i dont know if this nessasary. Its packed full of black dust, probably from the belt grinding away on the spring. How thick should the shoes be? Any thing i can do to test if it throws out ok?

thanks for any help

Welcome to the forums Jason.
I'd say that you might as well get a new post (fixxed face) cuz of the wobble.
No oil, A slight film of grease only or it'll sling out on the clutches.
BRGS: yes, you must remove the big bearing, then there is a clip down inside that holds the small bearing in. I replace alot of these bearings. You might want to get both bearings. Sometimes you do mess the brg up getting it out but usually not if your careful.
Rear clutch pads: if any pad is left, it's fine. They seem to wear forever. You can take the shoes off and lube the pins.

You didn't mention the front clutch. You must service it. Check the rollers for flat spots, gouges on the variator and gouges on the roller plate. I bet the rollers are melted.
I think that covers it. If not ask again.

Default thanks

thanks for the suggestions.
I will go ahead and pull off the front clutch to check it. I really just didnt even think about it since the back had all the problems. Since i will have it apart should i go ahead and only put back 4 of the 6 spacers as so many people seem to do to get a better take off? the motor has had a little work done to it but i dont know exactly what. The quad is mainly for my 6 year old son but i will find myself on it just as often.
I might state that i have yet to ride this machine because of the clutch issues.
How do i go about taking off the shoes on the clutch

Default front clutch questions

When i got the front clutch apart i found that some of the rollers were in so as to roll to the outside while others where in the other direction. Not fully under standing how this clutch works what is the proper way they should be in. Also if i only put back 4 does it matter which spaces i leave with out a roller.
Moving to the other side for a question. How much slack or how much should the chain droop? as it is now it rest/ drags on the chain guard.

The rollers should roll. The others got sideways when you pulled it off the crankshaft.
4 rollers:: 2-space,2-space
Chain:It is what it is. LOL No adjustment. You may need new sprockets and/or chain. If so, ask me and I'll advise.

Default why dont it fit

so i got all parts i needed. finally got it all back together but i cannot get the belt to go on. tried putting it on front first then back and vise versa but just to tight. the belt seems to me to be riding very high in the rear pulley, it stands out about 1/16 above the edge. I have no frame of refrence to go by because it was messed up when i got it. I got the belt from the dealer so i am assuming its the right one #27601-40B01. Also the rollers in the front clutch were a little worse for wear with minor melting on the edges but no flat spots. I went ahead and just put them back in. what will be the worst to happen?

They will quit rolling and cause a meltdown. That's the worst.
Simply push the belt into the rear clutch to install.

LT80 suggesting you get new rollers....by the way, there only like 2bucks a piece!

I also ordered a new variator and roller plate. they both had good wear.
