Default 02 Sportsman 700 where is the voltage regulator

My battery is not charging on my sportsman, a voltage test shows 12.8 volts with key on (not running) 12.4 volts idling or reving with lights out. From what I understand its should go up to at least 14volts.

So all it can be from my experience is the regulator/rectifier or Stator. The machine does run even with a completely dead battery so the ignition stator is working. I am not certain if polaris uses seperate coils in the stator for ignition and charging.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Small module in front of radiator,3 yellow, one red and brown leads. Check for any disconnected leads. If all are connected, most likely reg/rectifier. Only have had a couple stator related charging problems over the years. OPT
