Default 09 850xp -noisey when engaging gears

Just wondering if this is normal. there is a clack when i put it in gear and hit the gas. even when i feather the throttle on. it is worse going into reverse. The noise sounds like it's coming from the front of the motor--possibly the front shaft engaging?
Any thoughts would be great

+1 That is normal. Many of the later model polaris have the clank. The gearing in the trans box has just a bit of play. For what reason, I'm not sure why? I was concerned as well until I found out mine wasn't the only one.
