I asked this question the other day and received some advice on where the transmission oil bolt is, but for the life of me I can't find it. It's probably right in front of my face. Second question, How many volts should my machine be putting out on a fully charged battery. I show 14.4 with no load on like lights or the fan, 13 to 13.5 with lights on. Thanks.

Did you pull the foot well off??? You will not see it until you pull the plastics out of the way.

I did pull off the foot well on the right side (side of the foot brake) There are housing cover bolts, but I just can't locate the drain plug. Maybe I am looking for a larger
bolt like on a car transmission, but I just can't locate it.

I'll try to look at mine tonight and see if I can give you more advise. I had the dealer do mine last time so it has been about 5 years since I did it myself.

I found it!! It is right in front of the transmission, below the drive shaft. It's a 9/16 bolt.
There is an oval cut out in the skid plate, and the bolt is right there. Thanks for all your help...Mike

Default 2003 sportsman 600 transmission drain

it is under the right side. Bolt is actually 7/16, fill plug is 9/16. there is a hole in the skid plate.
