hello,i was wondering if anybody has a diagram of the wiring on a 99/2000 expidition 425,i got this and the wiring by the coil is messed up and im not sure what wire goes were,there is no wire hooked up to the coil and im not sure what color the wire is suppose to be any help on this would be greately helpful thanks

 

Make sure brown ground wire to where coil is mounted is attached and I believe the main coil wire is blue/white on this model? Has a spade connector,comes from cdi unit. OPT

 

there are 4 brown wires thaat are bolted to the coil there is one brown wire that has a eyelet on it thats not hooked up i suspect it also is a ground and goes to the coil,ill look further back in the harness for a blue/white wire as it isnt were its suppose to be thanks for you help

 

in general how does the electrical system work,tell me if im wrong,the pulse coil,sends a reference to the cdi which in turn send a reference signal to the coil which causes spark,im trying to understand how it works,

 

opt,there isnt a blue and white wire coming out of the cdi there all yellow with different colors and a red and a brown

 

The coil wire from the cdi will be the only one with a spade connector!! I don't have a schematic handy for your model as to color,but just look. The stator supplies the primary source ,then sends signal to cdi which sends charge to coil at timed intervals. The coil magnifies the spark and sends power to the plug wire. The cdi replaces the old points and condenser system of years ago as it electronically times when to send current to coil opposed to the old mechanical system of timing and ignition advance. PS The wires you are describing sound like the regulator rectifier,especially with the three yellow leads????

 

ive looked and cant find the wire there is no spade as i mentioned on my first post that the wiring is a mess and has been cut,thats why i an trying to go off color thanks
