Hey guys I bought a suzuki z400 and I want to start racing a little! Im 15 what class is that? and how do i start? also what are some riding tips to get me in the front?

 

Mostly race quads are 450's, but you could try it with a 400 I guess. At my local track all quads race together. Also get good and starts and turns.

 

I agree most guys are racing 450 quads now days but I used to race a KFX400 and did ok on it, depends on where you are at and what series you are planning on racing but most series have a beginner class I would start there and as far as tips go just keep praticing as they say pratice makes perfect good luck!!

 

What type of racing are you wanting to do? Track? Cross country? Ice? Flat track? A lot of different types, and some of it is region specific. No ice racing here in Texas, unless it's to the cooler.

I'd start by checking out GNCC and ATV MX.

At the ATV MX site, check into the Amateur Racers tab. Lot of good info there.

450's are getting to be the norm on the track, but out on the cross country courses, it's a pretty wide variety.
