Default Need more power, any advice??

Hey, new to this. Easy question, I have a 03 Polaris Magnum 330. Great machine, clean, runs great, but several times it seems to lack the power to start off from a dead stop to get up out of a creek bed or whatever. Is there anything I can do to add power, or am I better off just going up to a bigger machine? Trying not to break the bank! Thanks for your help!

Ditto! Clutched my 325 magnum and it acts like it's got tons more power.

Use low range for trouble spots like that, its free..

Ok great. Can you give me a ballpark idea of what a clutch kit goes for installed? I've used low gear, not enough. What about a new exhaust or jet kit? Thanks again

If low range is not enough than it may be a power issue not a clutching issue. The easiest Power gain on the 500 at least is a slip on muffler about $250,more bottom and mid range without jetting if you get the right muffer. Should hold true for the 330.

I shouldn't say I clutched the 325. I just changed the primary spring. Get with rick ritter cycle and he'll set you up. I was ready to do a full clutch kit and he recommended just a primary spring to start, which did the trick for $28. Didn't even have to remove the primary to change it. Very easy! Also Aaen performance sells slip on pipe's for your quad. They do make a difference!

I agree with everyone on doing the clutch. It made a world of difference on my 01 Magnum. You may also want to check the buttons on the primary and put a new belt on to. As I said I did those three things and it was like a complete different ATV but keep in mind it this will not help with speed, just the power to the ground. Here is a link to a you tube sight that walks you through installing a clutch kit. This is not a Magnum but they are all basically the same. This is part one of four and you can do a search to get the other three parts.

The thing I don,t get is the ATV should go up a tree at just above idle while in low range even with stock clutching.
