It will basically climb a tree in low gear, but when you need a little more speed in 4 wheel drive to shoot up out of a ravine, I need to be in high gear. When in high gear, there is no quickness off the start or response. Hope this makes sense.

I agree with the last post. You may find you have a broken spring or a very weak spring which is not permitting the engine to rev and close the front clutch. It is like staying in high gear.

Get the cover off of the clutch and have a look. If it has mega miles it can be a dirty clutch as well or a well worn belt. All those things contribute to an obvious drop in power and poor acceleration.

I live 50mi North of Greensboro but do all my riding in VA and WV.
I don't no how many of the people that are posting here have ridden a 325/330 Magnum, both with and without clutching but a 19 horsepower stock magnum that Polaris for some reason clutched terribly from the factory will have a major difference in performance when setup wright. It is still not going to run but about 32 to 35 mph topped out, but power to the ground and out of the hole is a big difference. The thing I like about it is that it does not have enough power to smoke the belt so if it feels week in high just go to low. I actually thought something was wrong with my SP 500 the first time I slipped/smoked the belt in a place where my magnum would have gone in high with no problem but the extra 16HP the 500 HO has will cause that.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
