Default 1997 Polaris Xpress 300 Charging System

I want to make sure the above machine charging system is working properly. The previous owner supposedly had put a new battery on the system and is not been a year and I just had to replaced the battery. I want to make sure the battery I just installed will not get ruined ($75.00). At idle (600 to 700) the voltage was around 12.5, at higher revolution (did not have my handheld tach with me) it was a bit over 13v. Anyone can tell me what should I be reading at what revolution?
Thanks!

that would be correct voltage if the battery is already charged. remember that new batteries should be filled and set for like 30 minutes and fluid level rechecked and then put on a charger (like 2 amps and not more then 10 amps) up to 8 hrs depending on the charger to make the battery life last longer before installing it. imo

Thanks! I just came back from checking it again. At 3k rpm it is 13.8, if I turn the head lights it drops almost a volt. I think I'm good. Thanks!
