Polaris Sportsman 700 Pipe Glows Red, Fan Stays On
#1
my buddy is havin probs with his polaris sportsman 700 EFI not sure what year but its yellow, 4wd with on demand 4x4 i believe, he said after riding maybe 15 min or so the head pipe would glow red hot and then the e fan would run constant, and i think he said theres a light on the dash thats suppose to come on saying its overheating but nothing turns on, was just wandering what this could be on these? do they have like a air temp sensor for the EFI or something? he said it would get so hot it would burn up the little donut gasket on the pipe, im gonna go look at it next time i ride....i know im gonna check the....plug, airfilter, coolant, oil and such but im not sure on what else to check and whether or not it might have a sensor that goes out on them and causes problems like this...thanks

I have read about it many times. From what I have read, some do it, some don't.
The only thing I think of is fuel delivery, maybe have it checked at the dealer.
I also have a 700, but sadly haven't been able to wring it out yet, to know if mine dose it.

It has to running way lean, I would bring it to the dealer and have the fuel mapping checked. I have a 700 carb model and installed the 800 dual header exhaust, 800 intake and jetted it up, I think it runs really well.
