Polaris has odd pricing on there two 400H.Os

How can the smaller 400H.O have a M.S.R.P. of $5,699.00 , but the new 400 H.O with a larger full size frame,3rd head light with pod, low range tranny and larger tires M.S.R.P. at a higher $5,599.00 ?
I would think the larger one would cost more just because it has 100lbs more steel in it.

My 'off the top of my head' comment would be Americans are ignorant at math, the truth is probably closer to 'the full size Sportsman chassis development costs were recovered many years ago, it's all gravy now, so they can discount it'. The 400HO hawkeye chassis hasn't sold well, so it costs more to build.
By the way I pondered the same question, this is the best I could come up with!.

I don,t give the new 400H.O long, it,s really just a 500 H.O with 44cc less now. as was the older 400H.O just a 300 hawkeye with a bigger motor shoved into it.

Thats "Manufacturer's suggested retail price" Nobody pays that on anything, its always on the high side. Even In ripped off Canada, our dealer is selling new 500H.Os for $5999. Thats the M.S.R.P in the states were they sell for much less in real terms.
